“Curse of Chucky”

Ok, I know what you’re thinking, Chucky (the killer toy doll) isn’t scary anymore. And I’ll agree with you there, he’s not, especially when he became the all around joke in his last endeavor (“Seed of Chucky”). However, be that as it may, Chucky creator Don Mancini comes back to the beginning idealism he had 25 years ago when Chucky was first introduced, in this new chapter, Charles Lee Ray is back as the cold blooded and darkly witty killer we’ve come to know and love thanks to the originals.

Once again Brad Dourif returns in the form and voice of a “Good Guy” doll named Chucky. This sixth installment of the Child’s Play franchise focuses on a little girl and her older sister after an untimely death presents itself to the family. The little girl befriends her doll, but suddenly bodies left and right turn up and there’s only one person we can put a finger on as the prime suspect… For some who’ve lost faith in the franchise this may come off on the cover as nothing more than a cheap, straight to DVD sequel knock-off, and at first it starts out this way, but like “Trick ‘r’ Treat” (another classic straight to DVD release), “Curse of Chucky” finds its way, and holds ground, and becomes something truly suspenseful again. In all honesty THIS is the Child’s Play movie we’ve been wanting since part 3.

Written & Directed by: Don Mancini

Starring: Chantal Quesnelle, Fiona Dourif, Danielle Bisutti, and Brad Dourif as the voice of Chucky
